What’s On Your Mind
Today I was thinking on what God wanted to tell me this week and I believe what He told me is for everyone. Today I want to ask the question, ” what’s on your mind”? Today are you worried about something, stressed out, or what? Today I want to put submit my thought of what should be on our minds today. Now of course our thoughts should always be on Jesus, but also I would like to point out that our minds should be continually focused on the task Jesus has left for us on this earth. To put it simply Jesus literally left us with the world as our responsibility! Now allow me to explain.
We read about what is called the great commission in Matthew 28:16 20. Now in this exert of scripture Jesus says to, ” Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the same of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”. So looking at this we see our job as Christ followers clearly laid out before us. We see that we are meant to be the voice of Jesus to the world. Too often we get too focused on different things around us and never take the time to consider the fact that we are not doing our jobs at all. The fact of the matter is that people, possibly including friends and family may never hear about Jesus if YOU don’t tell them about Him. Now am I saying that have to be those really weird Christians that walk around with picket signs and screaming at people to get right with an angry God? NO! That is not what I am saying at all. There are plenty of ways to tell people about Jesus, and the easiest way to show who Jesus is, is simply by how you live your life! If people see you living the opposite way they do they automatically wonder what the flip is wrong with you. And in turn you get an open door to tell them why you don’t live the way they do, and why you are so happy about it!
In the same passage of scripture Jesus also says,” And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Now seriously can you think of any reason why you should even be worried about doing your task now??? So many times we think it’s too hard or it’s impossible or it’s inconvenient. Before I go any further, do you think it was easy, or convenient for
Jesus to wrap Himself in humanity and come to the earth live 33 years and then be beaten, spit on, mocked then forced to carry a roman cross only to be placed on it, and nailed to it and suffer and die, all for the sake of making a way for us to know the Father? No it was not easy or convenient. Now after looking at this way, we should have no excuse to not go and minister to people. But as if that wasn’t enough Jesus makes us an incredible promise. He says He is with us always! Meaning that ever time you go and talk to someone about Jesus, every time you go to church, every time you wake up, ect. HE IS WITH YOU! we don’t have to fear anything because Jesus isn’t going to simply tell us to do something and then say,” well good luck buckaroo”. NO! He is right there with you the whole time! Now am I saying it will always be easy? No, in fact it will be very hard at times, but because Jesus never gives up on us, we must in turn never give up on Him, or on our task
The fact of the matter is Jesus is coming back in all His glory and our task now is to make sure as many people as possible knows Him before that day! So what’s on your mind?
